Liz Hood is an artist who now lives and works in Somerset in the South West of England.  She paints almost exclusively in oils, exploring her response to ordinary human experiences and personal memories.

Liz originally graduated from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin, in craft metalwork, and worked as a goldsmith.  She was a director at award winning product designers, Hood Associates, for 18 years in Dublin before moving to the UK.

When she turned to oil painting, it was to satisfy a more personal creative urge and she completed a diploma at the Norfolk Painting School.  Her work features in private collections in Canada, China, mainland Europe, Ireland, the UK and the USA.

Liz now concentrates on contemporary figurative oil paintings, but her early work included landscapes, still life and illustrations.
